ROGER THOMAS “LOST AND FOUND” COLLECTON FOR OW HOSPITALITY MIXES RANGE OF GLOBAL INFLUENCES

DALTON, GA / LAS VEGAS, NV, May 7, 2015 – OW Hospitality introduced Lost and Found, the second ensemble of carpets and rugs created through its partnership with The Roger Thomas Collection. The OW Hospitality collection draws on designer Roger Thomas’ near-encyclopedic knowledge of world artistic and decorative traditions, which he sifts and refines to create ingredients for fresh, memorable hospitality environments.

The global mix in his latest Axminster carpet and hand tufted area rug collection for OW Hospitality is especially apt for hospitality environments, notes Thomas. As executive vice president of Wynn Design and Development, Thomas has designed Wynn Resorts in the U.S. and China that mix a myriad of influences for a unique degree of opulence and theatricality. Similarly, motifs in the Lost and Found collection draw from sources including classical antiquity, ancient China, Renaissance Europe and contemporary art, yielding intricate, quiet patterns, as well as bold, even celebratory forms.

“Like favorite legends that we love to hear again and again, beautiful imagery is handed down to us from every great world culture,” Thomas says. As he travels, Thomas continues to study these influences in everyday streetscapes as well as museums and monuments, generating a flow of ideas first sketched in Hermès notebooks always kept close at hand. “I can’t wait to see how designers take the elements woven together in Lost and Found,” the designer says. “Whether in cosmopolitan residential settings or luxurious hotel environments, these designs are intended to evoke the surprise and delight that makes for an unforgettable interior.”
